ABOUT.
EXPERIENCED, CARING, STRAIGHTFORWARD
I’ve been helping Arizona Clients with serious IRS and other debt problems since 2003. During that time, I’ve had the chance to help thousands of people settle, challenge, and use bankruptcy to find real solutions. Most of my clients after spending months and even years struggling with their IRS debt problem come to me for straightforward advice…and detailed, streamlined, and experienced representation. I’ve been able to help thousands of Arizona clients get rid of millions in IRS and other debt.
Some people don’t have access to a “great” legal solution, but I’ve been honest about that… and provide those clients with a straightforward opinion and real direction, even when it didn’t benefit me financially to do so.
If you’re reading this, you probably have some serious tax debt, and you’ve been struggling. Installment agreement attempts, ignoring the problem when you could, maybe even a filed and failed “offer in compromise”…or two.
The most important thing to do is to have someone like me review your situation and discuss your real options, pros and cons, before you move forward again in an attempt to resolve the situation.
If you want to speak with me…for free…look to the upper right of this page and click on the “schedule" a free discussion button. Set up a 30 minute call, bring your memory, and we’ll talk about your history, answer some of your questions, and discuss how IRS options work.
WHY THE PRACTICE IS DIFFERENT
Phone Call
The analysis starts with a phone call during which I ask a number of questions, get a feel about where you may be headed, explain how things work generally, and answer some of your questions. The call is free and you can set it up by sending me a direct message - to the right, or going here…to set up the call.
IRS History Review
Once the call is complete, clients provide me with an IRS “8821” form that allows me to review the irs history and situation, debt amounts, missing/required return issues, collection status, bankruptcy qualification dates, collection statute dates, income history and other items important in determining the best path to take.
Financial Situation Review
While I’m looking at the IRS history and gathering documents from the IRS, the Client fills out a short worksheet that contains info about income/budget/assets and other important items, I ask some questions based on this worksheet and often for some documents related to it.
Game Plan Discussion
Once everything has been provided and reviewed, I discuss the options in more depth with the Client…pros/cons and scenarios - all in an effort to help the Client make a decision about the best path to take.
This process is required even if, at the outset i.e. during the initial phone call, the solution seems obvious.
The first call is free, the submission of the 8821 form and obtaining IRS history documents and reviewing them costs $450.00. The game plan review and discussion are free as well.
Honest Analysis
I tell clients the truth about options, even when that means they don’t need my help.
The truth is that most people with serious IRS debt, don’t have a great option at least not at first. The majority of people with IRS debt end up in an installment agreement as a result, and that installment agreement is often “full pay”.
What you really need is someone who tells the truth about that and doesn’t charge you large fees based on the hope that the debt will go away, when in reality, the solution is something you may be able to handle on your own or at least…a lot less expensively.
This isn’t an “offer mill”. It’s a law practice that tries to ensure Clients understand the situation, understand how options work, and make realistic choices based on reality.
“Flat”/Reasonable Fees
Most fees are charged as flat fees. Once the “game plan” process is complete, I set a flat fee to represent you in attempting to bring that “plan” to fruition.
I believe that because we “game plan” and are honest about options, we can define exactly what it is that is going to be attempted. This helps keep the fee reasonable.
Not Every Case
I’ve been helping Clients with serious IRS debt problems for more than 25 years and am able to limit my practice to helping Clients who I think have a real shot at eliminating the IRS debt via settlement or bankruptcy. (sometimes both)
I do help clients who need IRS “full pay” help as well, but they understand that I’m helping them do something that they can probably do themselves with some guidance.
Licensed/Local Attorney
I passed the Arizona Bar Exam way back in 1997. This means something in the IRS debt resolution world in that I have to take care of that license. I have to do what I say I’m going to do, be completely transparent about fees, your situation, and my involvement. My clients are all Arizona Residents.
When you hire a non-attorney, pay a large fee, especially out of state…your options aren’t good when they treat you poorly.
Bankruptcy
Although I’ve helped many Clients used bankruptcy to deal with IRS and other debt over the years with great success, I still consider it a “last resort”. It is used far more often than one would think however, and for many people with IRS debt, it ends up making the most sense. When I review the “facts” during the game plan, I’m comparing settlement options to bankruptcy and we discuss the pros and cons of each.
Remote Representation
I represent clients remotely. All clients must be able to scan/fax/mail items and use an online office management program called “mycase”. Communication and representation is streamlined and direct and fees are often less as well.
PRACTICE AREAS
-
IRS HISTORY AND OPTIONS ANALYSIS
Every Client’s IRS history and finances are reviewed and used to determine options and pros/cons of each. This is necessary step and the most important step in the process.
-
IRS DEBT "SETTLEMENT"
IRS representation is limited to “settlement”. Settlement of IRS debt requires convincing the IRS that you can’t afford to pay the debt in full within the timeframe the IRS has to collect it - either in a partial pay installment agreement or an offer in compromise.
-
TAX RELATED BANKRUPTCY
IRS debt can be discharged in bankruptcy and as a last resort, bankruptcy can make real sense. A thorough analysis must be done first and the bankruptcy must be closely compared to other options before the decisions to use it is made.
